Upgrade possibilities

Numberplate check

For license plate-based parking, correct entry is essential. With the real-time RDW integration, the system immediately verifies the entered license plate. The user sees the make, model, and color of the vehicle appear on the screen.

Benefits
  • Fewer input errors
  • Fewer unjustified parking fines
  • Reduction in appeal procedures
  • Improved digital accessibility

Rate check

With progressive rates or schemes such as 'first hour free,' abuse can occur when vehicles park multiple times in succession. Through an integration with the National Parking Register (NPR), the system checks whether a vehicle has already made use of a specific scheme.

Benefits
  • Fair application of parking policy
  • Prevention of rate abuse
  • Consistent enforcement
  • Reliable policy execution

Upgrade or Replace Hardware?

The choice between upgrading existing hardware or completely replacing parking terminals requires careful consideration. Factors such as technical condition, remaining lifespan, desired functionalities, and available budgets determine which solution is most appropriate.

With a targeted upgrade—for example, by replacing components or adding new software features—we significantly extend the lifespan of the terminal fleet and align it with current requirements and payment methods. However, when existing hardware no longer meets future policy objectives technically or functionally, replacement with a new generation of terminals, such as the Flowbird Compact S5, offers a sustainable and future-oriented solution.

TMC works alongside municipalities and operators to analyze the current situation and provide advice based on facts and practical experience. In this way, we realize a solution that aligns optimally with your parking organization from a technical, financial, and operational perspective.

TMC advises municipalities based on:
  • Age and technical condition of the terminal fleet
  • Changing laws and regulations
  • Future vision for mobility
  • Available investment budget
