Four Parking Meters at New City Beach in Hoorn

22 December 2024

City Beach Hoorn

The municipality of Hoorn has seized the opportunity to combine the dike reinforcement between Enkhuizen and Amsterdam with the creation of an authentic city beach. This area, approximately 130 meters wide and 1 kilometer long, is being transformed into a recreational spot where people can swim, stroll, and sunbathe.

Four S5 Parking Meters

The city beach is expected to provide an economic boost for the municipality of Hoorn and attract more tourists to the city. To regulate visits to the beach, 500 paid parking spaces will be created in so-called "parking ellipses." Next month, we will install three new S5 parking meters there, ensuring they are operational for the summer season. A fourth meter will be added next year.

Unmanned Location

The S5 parking meter is the newest addition to our product range. Its robust housing makes the CWT S5 ideal for this unmanned location. The parking meter features a large (9.7-inch) and user-friendly touchscreen. For energy supply, a 30-watt solar panel is used. The panel can rotate 360 degrees for maximum energy efficiency—a sustainable choice!

Opening of the City Beach in Hoorn

According to the current schedule, the first section of the beach can open in the summer of 2023. The entire beach is expected to open by the summer of 2024. For more information about the city beach, please visit: https://strand.hoorn.nl/.
