Ticket Machines at Grietman Eco Ferry
22 December 2024In the first week of July, Taxameter Centrale installed two ticket machines in the picturesque municipality of Smallingerland. These T-Pal ticket machines have been introduced to provide cyclists and pedestrians with an easy and efficient way to purchase tickets for the "Grietman Eco" ferry. Passengers can pay for their crossing using a debit card, credit card, smartphone, or smartwatch. The ticket serves as proof of payment and is handed to the ferryman, who then transports cyclists and pedestrians across.
A Key Part of Infrastructure
The ferries in Smallingerland are an essential part of the local infrastructure. The bike-and-pedestrian ferry "Grietman Eco" is especially busy during the recreational season, including the well-known Skûtsjesilen event. From April 1 to October 1, passengers can travel between De Veenhoop and Hooidammen, providing access to the scenic National Park De Alde Feanen.
Unified Management System
The ticket machines are integrated into the same management system as the existing parking meters in the municipality of Smallingerland. The municipality is very satisfied with the installation and has plans to add two more machines in the future.
