After a Successful Pilot Phase, Middelburg Chooses T-Pal

After a successful pilot period, the Municipality of Middelburg has decided to upgrade all Strada Evolution parking terminals to Strada T-Pal.

Key Features of the Upgrade

• Enhanced User Interaction: The new terminals are equipped with a bright color screen, making interaction with parkers easier now and in the future.
• Self-Sufficient Power Supply: A 16.5-watt light panel ensures the terminal operates independently on its own power.
• Extended Operational Life: With the new components, TMC guarantees both operational and economic longevity, making the entire parking terminal network future-proof after the upgrade.

Pilot Program

Before committing to the upgrade, Middelburg first converted four terminals to Strada T-Pal for a pilot test. The results were satisfactory, prompting the decision to upgrade the remaining terminals.

Implementation

The upgraded Strada T-Pal terminals feature:

• Modern Payment Options: Parkers can pay with a debit card or via contactless methods.
• Bright Color Screens: Clear and easy-to-read for improved user experience.
• Upgraded Components: Existing mainboards, already T-Pal ready, will be updated to support the new color screens. The lightboxes will be replaced with 16.5-watt light panels for efficient power usage.

License Plate Parking

While the municipality will not immediately implement license plate parking, the terminals are prepared for this functionality. Initially, the terminals will retain the current keyboard layout with new keyboard overlays. If the municipality decides to adopt license plate parking in the future, it will only require a simple software update and a switch to QWERTY or ABC keyboard overlays.

Work Begins in the New Year

The upgrade project will commence at the start of the new year, ensuring Middelburg's parking infrastructure is ready for the future.
