Municipality of Arnhem Chooses to Modernize Parking Meter System
23 December 2024Municipality of Arnhem Modernizes Parking Meters with TMC
The municipality of Arnhem has taken a progressive step in modernizing its parking meter infrastructure, awarding TMC the task of upgrading 70 outdated parking meters of the Cale CWT-2120 model to the Compact S5.
Since 2018, it became evident that the CWT-2120 parking meters in Arnhem had reached the end of their lifecycle. Issues such as limited availability of parts and outdated security standards were increasingly problematic.
Innovation and Sustainability Go Hand in Hand
With a clear focus on circularity and technological advancement, the municipality opted for an innovative approach. In collaboration with Flowbird, TMC developed a unique upgrade kit to give the aging parking meters a new lease on life. This upgrade not only brings the meters up to the latest technological standards but also prepares them for future developments in parking technology.
Features of the Compact S5
Following the upgrade, the CWT-2120 parking meters will adopt the advanced features of the Compact S5, including:
- A 9.7-inch anti-glare touch display for excellent visibility, even in bright sunlight.
- Communication with banks, NPR, and the management system through modern 4G M2M connections.
Familiar and Improved
This project offers numerous benefits for Arnhem. While the parking meters retain their familiar housing and operational speed, their technical lifespan is significantly extended. Upgrading the CWT-2120 to Compact S5 will not only enhance efficiency but also improve the overall user experience for Arnhem’s parkers.
We look forward to a successful collaboration!
